Hashnode Bootcamp Day1:-

"The Importance of Writing as a Developer"

Here are my 10 Learning from Day-1 of Bootcamp.

  1. Not every draft you write should be published by you. Sometimes writing a draft can help you to get better for your future writing and helps you to understand what to add and what not to add.

  2. Note down the ideas you get about the topic you want to write in your notes apps. It happens sometimes that you suddenly get an interesting point for your blog, and it's better to write it so that you can include it in a blog.

  3. Try to understand the pattern of the various technical blogs or newsletters and apply those patterns to your blog.

Key Point:- Mix those patterns with your writing to provide the best experience to your readers.

  1. Documenting your journey is important. It helps in many ways.

It helps you to see how far you come with writing alone.

It helps the upcoming generation as a "how-to" guide.

  1. There are formats of technical writing you can use to make the content more valuable and gain more audience. These formats are:-

(a) Textual

(b) Infographics

(c) Video

(d) Audio

  1. Start with simple writing, make it up-to-mark and to the point with easy-to-understand examples. If possible try to create examples of your own, it helps you to present the content more easily to your fellow audience.

Always give a summary or TLDR at the end of the blog

  1. Start creating an audience by posting about the blogs on socials like Linkedin and Twitter. Also, do the cross-platform publishing of your blog i.e. Publish your same blogs on different platforms like Hashnode, Medium, and Devto. It helps in gaining more audience.

  2. Always follow this tip:-

"Easy writing is engaging writing".

The more easy-to-understand you write, the more it benefits your audience as well as you.

  1. Always follow the "Quality over Quantity" Rule. If you are a beginner, It's always better to write 2-3 blogs a month and give your 100% to it, Rather than writing a blog everyday day and merely making it engaging and writing just for the sake of writing

  2. Another way of Sharing the content of your blog on Twitter is by breaking it into small parts and making a Twitter thread of 5-10 points from it.

That's my learnings from today's stream, I'll see you guys tomorrow.
